Opinions on Rustys springs

Another vote against rustys springs

Some of you are very lucky that he included friction pads...mine came without them.

Mine kinked/sagged 2" in 2 months. Rustys fix was a short, thick AAL

2 years later, the springs have formed a "W" around the perches.

And yes, a nice, stiff ride.

Another opinion.

I have had Rusty's 4.5 springs for almost a year now. 21,000 miles and many trail trips later, they have no noticable sag. They seem to be pretty flexy. Overall I have been pleased.

I have Rusty's 3" pack with a full length add a leaf and Rusty's shackles for about 3 years and some very hard trail use. No sag, and the leafs are in good shape.
YMMV,
Crunch

I am also one of the few that have had no problems with Rusty's springs...Ran the 4.5 for 3 years of hard wheeling and now have the 6.5 and love them...will be buying again soon to build a second rig...

Rusty's springs now come from the same company as RE gets theirs...

Fore Wheeler, going get a 2 door chop behind the doors...D44 rear 4:88 with the 6.5 Long Arm and of course 34 SS This will be my rig...Basicly same se up we have on Red but Auto and the chopping...Going get new seats too...Damn I may have to teach summer school just to pay for all this...LOL

I wonder if the new ones that RE also uses would be the ones I recently got? There is a little "Made In Canada" sticker at the shackle end of both springs. They have round black friction pads on each leaf. I got them about a month ago and they seem to be good quality.

I really hope that it's true.

I wish there was some way we could verify it. Maybe if I put up a stink that his old ones are junk, he'll give me replacements or at least a good discount. I remember seeing somewhere on his site that he had a lifetime warranty on his parts, but I'm sure they are long gone.

That rumour is being going around for more than I can remember. I have heard it when I got mine, and if I am not mistaken, Rusty had told me that story when I was talking to him about my lift.

Still, I had so many problems with his leaves. It's wierd. As someone else said, I tend to believe that he gets his leaves from different companies, hense the difference in performance we see here, between users. This (at least for me) means I can't trust him.

As for RE parts, I would suggest Jason at JEEPIN.COM, excellent prices, great service and a very friendly attitude.

Rgds
