Oklahoma

The more the merrier. Our name is the last thing we need to worry about.

Thats great to hear! Thanks mikeforte and SeanR! Alright, Okies, I'll add you to Google map shortly. ;)

excellent, I was under the impression that there was a big fight over Oklahoma a while back.

I had the time to spend so I bugged the hell out of Sean to get an answer ASAP. He got all their BOD on the phone to get us an answer immediately so I'd leave him alone I guess. That kinda was what I thought we wanted, an answer so we could move on. Hope I'm not in any trouble!

Well, I'll add you as soon as you post to the "Whats your 20" thread with your location, at least.

Yes, I'm talking to myself...it happens alot...

If you were talking to yourself about me I'm post # 54 I think on the "Wheres your 20" thread. I have Google earth but it won't open the file so I can't check to see if I'm there or not.

Nope, I've got all the current 20 posts. I just need the Oklahoma guys to post to that thread now that they are officially invited to the party. :)

Just a suggestion but you may be able to contact MetViper or even Sean may have a list of Ok members who are or were part of the MWC. Met can prolly tell you who from there is on his site anyways.

Mikeforte,

Don't know if I am stepping any toes here (let us know if I am please), but since you have some time and contacts already, would you be interested in gathering the regular email addresses, phone numbers and snail mail addresses of members, users and potential members of the chapter. Would ential contacting national to see what they will and can share with us as well. I don't think anyone is working real hard a complete list yet. Would also entail putting them all in to something like Excel that the BOD could all use and share easily.

Any sugestions from you PC software gurus as to what to use other than Excel?

Would be happy to do that but will need at least a couple of national people to contact. The only national contact I ever had was with Woody and Ghost about membership IIRC.
I could just make a list using word perfect or some other word program and then e-mail it to whomever becomes the BOD. I'm by no ones stretch a computer guy but do have some time to devote to this project.

Wordperfect is probably not a great choice. One us here should be able to come up with a free download program, maybe in html that would be easy to share and pass on to those who need to use it for official business from time to time.

What operating system are you using?

Maybe one of our national guys already doing this has the perfect answer?

What about seanR? Or have you worn out your welcome there with the Oklahoma coo, LOL?

Not too sure about how Sean would recieve my intrusion again. Willing to try though. Worst he can do is to ignoe me.
Who was it that contacted the national guys to get this whole thing going in the first place? They probably have more of a rapore with someone at that level than do I.
As far as Excel or anything like that, I have no experience but I think my wife does. I'll ask her tonight. She is not to enthused with me spending even more time on the 'puter. We shall just have to see what happens on that front. I am familiar with the word programs because I used them while working on my masters degree to write several papers, but that was years ago in the 80s.

http://docs.google.com has a fully functional and free spreadsheet program thats entirely web-based that would be reasonable.

The only reason I haven't pursued more complete contact information as part of the Google Earth map was that I figured most folks wouldn't be confortable providing those details to a relative stranger. I assumed once we hand an official secretary that they could handle the collection detail as folks might feel better about giving out that sort of information to an "official".

That said, I'd happily compile this data in any format requested...I am one of those computer guru's that Ecomike mentioned earlier. :)

Then by all means you have the job if you will take it. Noone is going to wrestle you for it I'd bet. As for the personal info I agree but if the rules were ammended to allow you to become, at the very least, interim secretary then you would be official. I would not want to see that personal info up on the Google Earth program either but as long as it is kept by the secretary, then that would be fine in my opinion.
Anybody got a problem with that suggestion???

I am one of those gurus as well, but Kendrick is a lot more up to date (like Google earth) than I am. I suggest we all PM him with whatever info we are willing to or feel safe passing on at this time, like direct email addresses for those of us who may not check the Naxja forum daily.

I'll happily collect any information I receive and pass it on to the official secretary at such time as one is elected. I think real name and email address are probably all we really need, with further details provided at everyone's whim.

Oklahoma? Aw geez, do we have to? As for the name. I think Texas Chapter says it all. If those okies and coon asses don't like it, let them go play with them yankees up in Chicago.
