Oklahoma

Okies can join if they want to. It'd do 'em some good. Dual citizenship :D

Haven't you ever heard that Oklahoma sucks, but thats good because it keeps Texas from floating out into the Gulf of Mex.

Ha! That's funny. Now if only we can teach Oklahoma to blow, then we'd all be better off.

I don't think we ever got an official reply from the MidWest Chapter BOD about allowing us to overlap. Who should we follow up with to get an answer to that?

I would think that they may need to poll their membership from Ok before they can reply. I just made a big assumption that they have some members and that someone here has already got them looking into it. Me bad.

My understanding is that once we are actually a chapter we could work out a deal with Midwest to have overlapping territory and the members located therein could choose which chapter to be in.

at least thats what I hope will happen.

We can't just annex OK and many of the OK members want to be in the Midwest chapter.

Yeah, either Chia or Burbon dropped em a line a couple of weeks ago, but no response so far that I'm aware of. A membership poll would be a reasonable assumption as well, I'd think, but it'd be nice to at least hear a "we're discussing it" from someone over there.

Normally I'd say its not a big deal and something we could handle after the chapter is formed, but we have a qualified member for BOD who's technically outside our area so it might be useful to have that question answered so File 05 can run for office. :)

I'd rather be in a Texas/Louisiana chapter. All the MWC meet & geets are in like Chicago. If Texas/Louisiana ever got together at Clayton, it would be a lot more doable for me.

I was told that you can join whichever chapter you want. I inquired since there was no Tx chapter at the time. I have been following the Co chapter for some time now. Sure glad we are getting something going here.

Well I have just overstepped my bounds but I asked the MWC Prez to send us some decision pretty soon on sharing Ok membership with us. They state that most of their membership activities are located around Chicago so they are aware that it is difficult to impossible for the Ok members to be very active in the chapter. So if I have overstepped my bounds it was only in an effort to keep the ball rolling and to increase the member roles for the chapter.
Just got a PM that they are discussing it right now and they are favorably looking at letting us share the OK territory with them. We will have a decision by the morning. The MWC Prez is calling every BOD member on the phone this evening to get us a fast decision.

sweet can we get a change in the forum title

Who would handle that at the national level. I will be glad to contact them if I know who to contact. Do you know Brandon?

That kinda brings up an issue of what to change it to? I think listing the states is better, clearer, that doing something like south central chapter, especially this early.

Are there any real objections to adding Oklahoma?
