Oil Drip Question

I just installed a RE 4.5 on a 93 XJ, we were wheelin in it for about and hour and than we got t a bolder field and realy flexed it up, the new shocks (RE monotubes) started dripping a lot of oil, about a drip ever second, it stopped after about 20 minutes, is this normal?

Sounds like you have a bad shock. If it dripped that quick for that long, it is probably out of oil.

how would i know if it was out of oil... any way to check or should i just assume its crap?

Disconnect it and see how easy it is to cycle by hand. That is how I have always checked. If anyone else has another idea, let me know.

Or the side that it's on will be really bouncy, like if you rock it and it keeps rocking on it's own for more than 2 times. Assuming you're at street pressure in your tires, of course.
