 My family of 5 would like to offer food and shelter to a married couple or single mother with up to 2 elementary to middle school age children that have been diplaced by hurricane Katrina.
We live in a 3BR/2BA home in a beautiful neighborhood in Oklahoma City with excellent schools in the Mid/Del School system.
There are a couple of options for the best use of space.
The kids can share bedrooms with our kids and the adults can sleep on a framed airbed in the living room or we can put all of our kids in one room and the family could share a room.
We have a cat and the kids have caged pet rats.
No more pets, please.
We wish we could do more, but a small family is all we can help.

If anyone else would like to do the same, check out www.moveon.org for details.

If you know of other sites that are providing this type of service, please post it up here.

Edit: Must be able to endure a season of OU football.

I moved to Colorado two days prior to the one that tore up OKC in '98, went right by our house. We got so use to the sirens, it had to be damn close for us to even stop what we were doing. And if we did stop what we were doing, it's because we were outside watching..............:dunce:

I grew up in Texas and lived in OKC going to electronics school. I worked at 30th and May just a hop from MWC. Every area has it's issues. We have floods, snow storms, and -40F in Colorado.
