Maybe someone that works in a Jeep dealership can help out...

I am looking for service assistance for my 2001 XJ.

I have found a set of 4 books called "Service Diagnostic Manuals" that include Transmission, Body, Chassis, and Powertrain.

I have also found 1 book called the "Service Manual."

What is the difference, and which would do me better in my garage?

My 98XJ is one book, my 97TJ's are two books the the ZJ is one book. Can't picture 4...

There are 5 books, IINM
The FSM itself
AW4 Diagnostic Procedures
ABS " "
Body " "
2.5/4.0 " "

The Service Manual would be the one book to get; I believe the "diagnostic" books are detailed trouble shooting for those systems.

Hubs has it right. The serviec manual is the book you want. If you want to use the others you'll need the Chrysler DRBII scanner. The books explain what to do with the scanner to eliminate possible problems.

For the late models did they incorporate the Electrical section into the main FSM or not?
