OBDII PROBLEM

The Datalink buss "talks" to lots of devices...hopefully you don't have a wiring harness problem.
Some of the devices it speaks to are:
Instrument Cluster, Sentry Key Immobilizer, Airbag Control, Compass, TCM, Overhead Module, ABS Controller and of course the PCM.

You can try to isolate the problem by disconnecting devices, and trying to scan.
99 XJ's seem to have a lot of Instrument Cluster connection problems...I would start there.

i know i have to push on the gauge cluster to get it to read all the time when im driving, when i first bought this jeep it had that problem, the connection behind the cluster was loose i took it out and cleaned it and plugged it back in, ill do that again when i get home. PLEASE BE IT.
