Obama considering sweeping action in 11 Western States

Obama is looking at using the Antiquities Act to lock up OUR public land!

I received the following info in an email, and then I verified it from several other source before posting it here. If you care at all about land access issues, read all of the following and then write an email to your Congressman asking them to oppose this process.

Department of Interior Document Highlights Threat to Access
A leaked Department of Interior (DOI) memo makes it clear that President Obama is considering restricting access to public lands by declaring as many as 17 areas in 11 western states as National Monuments. National Monument designations can be made by the President without input from Congress or other stakeholders. The DOI document says the areas “may be good candidates for National Monuments under the Antiquities Act…” States that have areas highlighted in the memo include, AK, AZ, CA, CO, MT, NM, NV, OR, UT, WA and WY. As outlined in a letter from Representatives Doc Hastings (R-WA), Ranking Member, House Committee on Natural Resources and Rob Bishop (R-UT), Ranking Member, House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands, sweeping National Monument designations represent a serious threat to recreation including motorized access. Any OHV use would almost certainly be forever banned in areas designated as National Monuments, and riders would have no opportunity to formally weigh in on the process.

Theres enough damn national monuments! Agreed it protects them from people with no respect for the land and makes a good place that will remain for the most part unchanged for decades, I think we are using our land responsively and taking good care of it for the most part. I think this idea of "Change for America" that our dumbass president has is being taken wayy out of line. We are already in debt enough, all we need is a bunch more national monuments to take care of. Whats a national monument offer that we dont already have except further hurting the economy due to loss of offroading grounds causing people to get out of it and stop boosting our economy and having to purchase even more maintenance equipment for those areas.

We need to get this idiot out of office, I have yet to see one "change" that actually HELPED our country. He sure does "change" things but its in the complete wrong way, sure, it could distract us to were on some things we think its helping but in the matter of just a month or two the real effects are showing. He needs to realize theres more to being a president than just changing stuff around. He needs to look ahead into the future which he wont do, he dont care what happens, he will just mess it all up, not re-elect for president and leave this mess for us and whoever the next president will be and he will get out of the US and go back to wherever his real birth certificate is for. The main thing Im concerned with changing right now is our president. Theres other ways to keep oil and coal development in the areas besides cleansing them of all recreational use. Just say no.
