Why is it OK for people to openly say they are voting for Obama because he's black but if I ( a white male) were to say I'm voting for McCain because he's white I'm instantly labeled a racist? I just don't get it? Don't you just love double standards.

*I don't care that Obama is black. I didn't vote for him because I don't agree with his philosophies.*

The liberals know that already, it's just easier to answer our questions with "you're racist!"

What? Who said they voted for Obama "because he's black" I don't think that's OK at all. That's just stupid.

Same for McCain though, if you said you voted for McCain because he's white, that's not OK either. Especially considering that sort of implies you DIDN'T vote for Obama because he's black. Which gives you a grade A racist stamp on your head.

Sorry, racism isn't right. Even if you are voting for black guy because he's black, that still makes you racist. Racism isn't just about being racist against those who have been oppressed because of their race. It's about being for or against a race, because of their race.

If McCain was black, and Obama was white, that wouldn't have changed my vote.

That would be because the Race Card(tm) only works in one direction...

It goes in lots of directions. It's more then a two way street Black panthers. Chinese Gangs, Wah Ching. There's lot of races. Racism is about race.

It's just easier to point the finger at the side of the road where there a ton of cars and so many accidents in history.

Personally, if I was black, knowing the history of my people, you're damn right I would have voted for Obama because he's black! I am not faulting any black person for voting that way. Let it be known I am white and born and raised in the south. I KNOW for a fact that racism is still very much alive and well in this country, at least here in the south. I live in a neighborhood that is half black and half white and all of us get along great. I have several black friends as well, some of which you could say are black/whites. If your white and can't understand the fact of why a black person would vote for another black person despite the issues, you must be pretty dumb. You might as well stop trying now, because you ain't gonna get it.

I think it's racist to vote for obama because he's black and your black.

It's called reversed racism and it works both ways

Guys it had little to do with race and a lot to do with government handouts. Why you ask? Alan Keyes is a black man whom has run in the last three elections, how many of you have heard of him? He's a conservative, I vote for him because I agree with him on almost all issues. Obama, on the other hand has gone around our country and promised to give something to almost all groups. Read government handouts, deeper socialism. The media would have you believe he was the first black candidate, Jesse, Alan, others, were first,. The media didn't back them, why? This election was more about welfare than any other topic. He's gonna tax the rich, like robin hood, a friend of mine gladly stated. To take money from someone who worked for it, and give it to someone who doesn't work, is wrong. What Mr. Obama did was purchase votes with money the working class made.

I'm black and while I love the thought of a black president, there's no way I would vote for someone just because they're black. For example, Obama is a socialist, and I did not vote for him.

I was talking to some money people (people that work with it, as opposed to people who actually have a lot). Many said, one of the larger factors of the financial crises, was people bailing out of the stock market before the administration and capital gains taxes are changed. The earlier you bailed, the more you made and got to keep. The financial year ended Oct. 1 st for most/many companies. Government competing against the private sector for money to finance the Iraqi war, variable rate mortgages and other factors were also there.

Sorry - let me rephrase.

"The RaceCard(tm) will only work when pulled by a 'minority' against Caucasians."

Thus, the RaceCard(tm) can only be pulled by Negroes, Asiatics, and Latinos; and can only be used against Caucasians. You never see Negroes pulling it against Latinos, or Latinos against Asiatics; do you?

I've heard people say that it's Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream coming
true, but it's really not. MLK said he dreamed of a day when a person
was judged not by the color of his skin but by his character. Barack
Obama was elected because of the color of his skin. 93+% of blacks voted
for Obama. You can't tell me that 93+% of blacks have the same socio
economical situation that it would create such a lop-sided voting
percentage. Oprah does not have the same needs/expectations of an
elected official as someone living in Durham, NC. We as a country
evoked Affirmative Action for the presidency of our country. Because
clearly the most qualified person didn't get the job, the minority did.
Being eloquent and different than the presidents on the $1 and $5 bill
doesn't make you qualified. You have to have done something, anything so
the people can judge what type of leader you are or will be. It's as if
some people still fill guilty for slavery and segregation and by
electing a black president the sins of our fathers will be forgiven or
they just wanted to be apart of history regardless of the consequences
to the country.

Bla bla bla white guilt is over as far as im concerned now

Lucky for them that Condoleezza Rice didn't run, eh?

Obama is actually WHITE. I don't know where everybody is getting their information; the media maybe?

Using today's terms, he's multi-racial. Technically speaking, he's slightly more white than black. I personally don't care what color he is, but the media certainly runs with the "African-American" theme.

One of my two boys has darker skin than the other one. Is one of them more Hispanic than the other?
As far as the media, we all know that fact is not the horse that pulls the bandwagon.

That depends, what do they plan to do for a living................:shhh:

Love ya Tim!

Boy, are you one of a very, very few!
:D

The eldest and darkest, “Uncle Darky” as his nieces and nephews call him, which is funny because some of them are darker than him; he owns and operates a local business.
The youngest and lightest is in college.
What will be interesting, though, is when I start getting grandkids, finding out all of the different shades and colors they turn out to be. I just hope that I remember to treat them all with the cultural respect and tolerance due each of their varying skin hues.
