might be the best christmas present I ever received. Very realistic representation of a rock crawler. Articulation is great. Contact patch/weight ratio about right. Less than the cost of a replacement axle for the real rig. If I break I can walk into the house and have a beer. I have some awesome waterfalls and rock garden 10 steps from my patio slider.
Wish they had a little better clearance under the axles and an XJ body.

ive been modifying mine to make it alot better so far ive done long arms, relotcated shocks, cut body and next is the better ground clearance by relocating the batterey and shaving the belley of it...

reversed rear axle, extended wheelbase, 9.6 volt upgrade, 3.5" tires off of a radio shack truck, cut body, de stickered, painted, coilovers removed, stretched coils in the rear, zip tie spring up front with zip tie limit strap.
(i toasted the gears in the front and rear diffs last night though. Now ill probably buy the 1:8 scale one and swap the axles into this one and part the rest of it out on rccrawler.com.)

Son had to replace the servo on his steering. Mine's been fine so far. Both are the smaller ones.

not what happened on mine, i flopped it and the steering went dead. it wont make any noises but will still go forward and reverse and all that other nonsense
Thats actually what mine did when I "broke" a "birfield". It would go forward and reverse fine, but no steering. I got to looking around and the "axle" that comes out of the differential had popped out of the little hub that it slides into and was jammed against the inside of the wheel, so it wouldn't let the wheels turn.

well mine wont even attempt to turn it, the thing usually makes a good bit of noise but mine is silent. still trying to get ahold of nylint through email but no luck as of yet. i'll probably just buy a new chassis because these things are just too much fun to let sit.

Got one of the bigger ones for Christmas. Good house wheeler when you can't wheel your regular jeep. I think I messed up the steering on mine too. Does not want to turn left very well anymore and when you back up, the front tires turn from left to right. Pics later.

we have the small one and it broke, problem with the front axle.
I bought the big one for my nephew for x-mas and decided a $150 rc car was a waste, he would break it in a matter of days. my boyfriend begged me to keep it for himself and I said no because the small one broke so fast and $150 was insane. I had forgotten about it until last night when I saw it in the basement so we drove to Walmart to get my money back and the customer service woman told me, "thank god for receipts, this is only $40 now!" so I returned it and rebought is for $40.
so now we have a big one and a small one, the dog hates it.

Here is a pic of my 1/16 unlimited. I stretched the wheel base, cut, and flipped the tires, and half backed it. These little things rock! That is my son's stock Scorpion still stock for now :wave:

I've been watching the walmarts around here for the after Christmas price cut on the bigger one. But none of either size made it past the 25th.
So if anyone sees one for less than $50 get it, I'll cover freight and give a little bonus to you for your time, effort, and for the short term loan.
