ny laws on lift and flares

im moving to ny when i get back from deployment and get out of the Marines im wondering how cops are about 6 inch lift with 37s and full widths? thanks !

near middletown kinda? i can get agricultural plates for my right just wondering if cops are dicks or if they let it slide

here on li cops dont really care. u should see some of the rigs that guys drive around! upstate i dont know, but state laws are state laws, so they shouldnt give u any problem.

I have seen more pickups with large lift and tires than jeeps in NY. I haven't heard of Cops being dicks anywhere and I have driven everywhere east of the Hudson. From what I can tell you when I have spoken to cops about it, they will only start going after your lift height, tire size etc after they have pulled you over for something more serious (to them anyway) like running a light, stop sign or speeding. The initial traffic stop most likely won't be for Modifications

Be aware that Ag plates may be more restrictive than you'd like. When I looked into them for an old beater Power Wagon, I decided not to bother. By the law, at least 20 years ago, you could only drive the vehicle between your own farm property and to/from the nearest landfill. It was not a carte blanche ability to drive anywhere. For example, I couldn't )legally) drive it to the home improvement center for a load of 2 x 4s, or to the feed store, which I thought was odd.

I lived right outside middletown, i ran doorless all summer with my tires sticking out past my fenders, cops never bothered me

upsyate NY cops dont care. i've been doorless, exhuastless, wheels sticking out, jumping my jeep and doing burnouts without issues.

but heaven forbid i idled my subaru... i got citations every week bc of tints, exhuast, racing, etc
