**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

I always wanted that artec cell mount! Sexy sexy!

I just got my first XJ, I was a big IH scout guy 25 yrs ago but parts are hard to find. I am starting out with a 93, 4.0HO, with a 5 speed. My question is how does the 5speed hold up off road? also is there a conversion kit to get rid of the hydraulic clutch?

Welcome !!

Hydraulic clutch is the shizznit. The 5sp is great when used with properly geared axles and driver skill.

Agreed.

I think you are saying you want to get rid of the internal slave style hydraulic clutch - which is 100% understandable.

What you need:
Input bearing retainer/TOB quill from a 94-99 jeep 6cyl manual transmission. Dakotas also have the same part in the v6 5 speed trannies of roughly the same year. Compare shift towers with any donor, google pics of the nv3550 shift tower and the ax15 shift tower. You need one from an ax15.
Clutch fork, retainer clip, and throwout bearing from the same donor, dakota or cherokee.
Bellhousing from a 94-99 4.0 cherokee or wrangler.
Clutch slave, hydro line from a 94-99 cherokee.
Maybe the clutch master from a 94-96 cherokee, not sure it bolts in the same place but I think it does. I would just get a full hydraulic clutch cylinder/hose set from rockauto.com or a boneyard, cheaper than buying individual parts and they come prebled.

Then you just bolt it all in basically... I would buy it all and wait for the internal slave to start acting up, because I hate throwing out good parts.

i might be down for this..... jeep depending.

I'm down! Be cool to check out!

How far are you wanting to go?

The whole trail all the way to wamick takes about 6 hours iirc

I would be down for an all day trip.. Paging Nightfoam..

Really thinking about doing a classic car build lately. Not a total restoration, just something to cruise around town in. It certainly hasn't helped Rod Run at Long Beach was this weekend. Been drooling over all the classics leaving town.

What are some of your guys' favorite classics?

1945- 1955 dodge pickups

Whats more addictive than crack?
SKYDIVING
I'm pretty sure i'm going to end up selling my bike to pick up a new hobby...
UGH.

I use to live by the Drop Zone in Estacada. I use to lay on the ground and watch my buddy jump. That's some crazy crap looking strait up at the jumpers. He ended up getting a pilots license and owning a small rental fleet of planes because of skydiving.
