**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

Hypothetical situation. You're a security guard in a high rise building. The freight elevator is broken. You have a policy of no handtrucks in the passenger elevators. A delivery person shows up with a hand truck loaded with ten cases of bottled water that a customer special ordered. What do you do?

The "No handtrucks on Passenger elevators" rule was Clearly written due to having the Freight elevator..

Without the Freight elevator.. the Rule goes out the window

In my opinion.. ;)

Sorry Scott, I don't think you're Koin Tower Security material. The answer is always no. Old fart came jogging from his desk to stop me when I was coming in the door. Only acceptable answer is deliver them by hand.

Worked security in multiple areas and facets and also in delivery. No freight elevator then if the item or items are not large or bulky and can fit in an elevator with out disturbing other passengers and occupants of the building then use the passenger elevator.

Surprised the security officer could jog, most I see are 400lbs and sorta shamble/bounce their way along

Everyone who goes full circle clips or spares, why does everyone say the abs shafts when they also say the 95'+ axle shafts are stronger? Is it just availability issue or what?

all 87-2001 ABS equipped XJ's have the larger 297x Shafts..

All 94+ XJ Dana 30's have 297x shafts

Terminology and some confusing stuff...

It is 95+ that have 297x shafts.

All 87-01 abs have em too. BUT the shafts are a crappier style, the yoke on the inners is a pressed on unit that a few others and I have broken more easily than the later one piece forged shafts.

The earlier two piece pressed together units also play badly with a vac disco delete, the shaft is larger diameter till closer to the splines and wont fit through the disconnect housing. Found that out on the trail one day when a friend with a yj needed a spare and his wouldn't fit.

Good info.. I guess i've always had 95+ shafts

I should note I may have been confusing in my last post, its only the 87-94 or so abs big joint shafts (and all 260 shafts that im aware of) that are the weak two piece pressed design. All the abs and non abs 95+ shafts are the same and all are one piece afaik.

Dunno.

The ABS shafts are probably more easy to find in many areas of the country.

Up here, stuff gets scrapped because it rots out, so we have plenty of 95 and later donors. In fact 94 and earlier are getting hard to find because they all rotted in half years ago.
