**NWChapter Random Thoughts Thread***

Oregon has mostly Cash and Carry and Resturant Depo's at least at most of the towns we travel to. Do you guys do a lot of shopping at wholesale food markets. There are usually for businesses like resturants and concessioaires?

On a side note is a 1-1/8 Johnny Joint with 1.75" .250 wall dom over kill for a temporary steering setup? Mine is broke/bent and I have some of these joints laying in the cabinet from a previous project but it looks ridiculous.

I'm just trying to upload a video to YouTube...

The Baofeng UV5RA is a great little HT, reliable, and works well.
I know several guys running this radio in conjunction with a mounted unit in their rig with great success.
These are the second generation of this line, the original and still a great radio is the UV-5r+....
The new Baofeng UV-82s are coming out soon, so I imagine they are clearing stock, hence the price drop.
Don't forget guys, these kind of radios (HAM) require an FCC license (technician class at a minimum) to transmit legally.
You can listen all you want, but if you key up without a license, you're breaking the law. (just sayin)
I've been studying to get my general class license for a while now, and have some great literature, and links to share if anyone is interested.
Just PM me, and I'll get you what you need to get on your way.

Its been almost 5 years since I got my FCC License and everything I have read or seen says that an FCC License will not allow you to run a HAM radio legally.

A HAM radio license and an FCC License are not the same and they dont cross over and they don't cover each other. If I am wrong, please share where you got your info from, it has been a year or so since I needed to keep up on this.....

I don't even think HAM licenses are governed by the FCC.

Okay guys, need some help here. Started the jeep up and turned the heat to defrost and all the way heat. Then smoke started coming out of the defrost vents! As in like blue smoke, as in fire. Wtf!?! Any ideas into what to look into here

How's it blow? On high is it not blowing air very hard?

Might be your motor going bad.

Upon another inspection, I turned the jeep back on and turned the air and motor back on, and it finished its puff and then no more smoke. So I'm not sure. It still blows air well. Thanks for the quick reply though nick!
