So glad I didn't spend the money on a diesel. Granted I'm not drag racing with a 20k load on but 75 in cruise control. And my oil change only costs $20

Re: NWC Picture of Day

My oil changes cost $55 and I do them every 10k miles

I'm goin on number 4 since I bought the truck a year ago.

If that translates right, that's 40k miles in a little over a year. Also known as 25% of a Chevys typical engine lifespan

Scott, did you get excited when you saw an opportunity to brag about your cummins and bash another truck?

Tell the truth.......

I personally will never bash a chevy motor again. I had a 6.0l out the other day to replace some broken exhaust manifold bolts and repair some leaks. I was very impressed with what I found in a motor with 230.000 miles on it. Rod and main bearings looked like they were still new. The rings and cylinder bores were in perfect shape. I ended up swapping out the heads and fixing the few leaks. I couldn't believe it had a forged crank and rods also short skirt top hat race style pistons all from the factory.

Hey, more power to ya if you want a Tahoe. I just simply don't see its placement in a towing debate. Wasn't meaning to offend. But if you have a jeep that requires being towed, why run out and buy a used 1/2 ton family wagon that will always be at its Max towing capacity with your jeep. When a diesel will do the job alot easier.

In every department. Resale value, reliability, comfort (when towing). Longevity and fuel mileage. Diesel wins..
it's a nice rig, I like tahoes, I just would not have chosen one for the same reasons he did..

The cummins is the only part they can brag about so they take every chance they can get.

IMO a Cummins in a Dodge truck is a waste of a good engine.

Thats why you gotta put some stacks on it.....then stack those stacks to get some stacked stacks.....

Yeah. Well.. That's your respected right to have an opinion. Chrysler does have quality issues. It's no lie.. I may have 400k miles. But my power mirror switch is starting to show its origins.

Oh hey look.. $25 to fix it and I can even do it on my own time.. Not on the freeway with my hazards on..:dunno:

Honestly I did look at some dodges but with the way my loan worked out from my credit union I needed to stay 2001 and newer and under $10000 with less then 150,000 miles.

Pretty much eliminated anything with a diesel.
After some research I decided I didnt want a gas dodge or another modular Ford so I went with a 3/4ton chevy. Im not a Chevy guy but it seemed like the most bang for the buck.
