Just before christmas 2009 (they're almost certainly more expensive now) I got 4 285/75r16 Treadwright BFG AT retreads for $550 shipped.
It took several years of wheeling before anyone noticed they weren't actually BFGs, and even then, it was only after I mentioned that I bought a real BFG off craigslist to replace one I tore a sidewall on, and got "wait, those aren't real BFGs? what the hell are they?".
Still running on em, though they're getting kinda low on tread. Maybe 3/16-1/4 inch left now.
Some people don't trust retreads... they are also a bit heavier than the original tire would be... with what I have done to mine with no problems, I will trust them just fine. Over 100mph? Yup. There's a slash in one shoulder nearly deep enough to hit the cords, has been since 2010. No problems with it. I've run em at highway speed aired down to 16psi, beat the hell out of em offroad, powersliding corners on pavement, potholes, bumps, jumped it a little a couple times, you name it, they've seen it, and no issues yet.
I'm probably putting a set of their 235/75R15 Crawler MT(C)s on my DD XJ this spring when it isn't snow tire season anymore. Can't say no to $87ea 235s with MT tread.
