NW Fest Carnage Report

It looks like my Alt. is likely toast (it is very possible this happened on my last trip though and just didn't realize it).

It looks like one of the "splits" in the sidewall of 1 of my swampers is now actually leaking a little bit (maybe I can get it warrantied).

My front Lock rite is making a little more "popping" than it used to.

front Drivers side shock is leaking a little more than it was before.

35 mosquito bites all over my body.

Bruised heart seeing Jeremy's YJ being there without him.

I vote for Matt, that was almost the worst possible location he could have lost a wheel, not much of a guard-rail there, more like guard-ramp. BTW, Matt we delivered those cones back to the Ranger.

I did take a pic of Thethinginthewoods ball joint incident which closely follows second to Matt's carnage in my opinion.

Thursday night, I smashed out my driver's side tail light assembly while swinging the rear end around in the snow on the Naches trail; Friday I blew up the driver's side u-joint in the moon rocks while trying to position myself to help recover Ken's rig. This bent the shaft and almost pulled my ball joints out. Saturday I blew up my passenger side u-joint 20 feet from the top of Aardvark Hill while going up it backwards. I discovered my steering box mounting bolts were loose & I also got a $124 ticket from Yakima County for no doors. (still trying to get Masterpull to give me a big sticker to smother my Jeep with so I can get away with stuff too :D)

Other than that, I had no issues and all the new parts held up well from the year-long rebuild that some of you may know about. Thanks go out to Ray, Zach, Ken, Carl, Steve, Joe, Scott & others for providing spare parts and moral support while I swapped parts out in a Mosquito infested swamp...

That dude could switch from an empty beer to a full one in 1.3 seconds. I actually saw tracers at one point!!

'carnage' haha, yeah...
...truth is, I took it pretty easy this year since I needed to drive back to Canada.

muffler got twisted up somewhere sometime on some trail..

Howard, Joe and I headed up 1920 and jumped on somewhere along where the main road cuts across the trail. I was informed by numorous people that the east side was open. There were no signs or indications of the trail being closed or else we wouldn't have felt the need to explore it.

Last I heard, the west side was still closed until the end of this month?

You guys are dedicated. I guess that's about the same for us when we try to get to TSF on a workday.

That you bastards kept on the "down low" so none of us south-end weirdo's would attend:shhh:
By the way I came home to the new issue of CRAWL on my desk. There was a great article on the PNW run to TSF. Looks like you guys had a good time down here.

I'm thinking we'll have to do a big end of the summer event down here. Maybe a Friday-Sunday trip that includes both Sandlake and TSF.
