NW Chapter Had a cool idea

Indeed this is going to take some prep and planning. So I doubt it will be any time super soon, by then it should be nice out in the desert.

And gerr, I love it out there, Borego and Truck Haven are my favorite places to go when its not to blazing hot. Heck Ive never even been to big bear since its just as long of a drive for me and I love me some desert.

I think the reality of this whole thing is if we try to make it a fundraiser of some sort and want people outside of NAXJA to participate then we have to be choosey on where we do it.

If we just want it to be a chapter thing then we can do it just about anywhere :P

And thanks for Stopping by Phil, loved reading about your Scratch and Dent, hope you dont mind me suggesting the idea to the boys out here.

And like Phil said it might be nice to have a big event/meet and greet that is a little more organised than the small ones that are spread around. This could be a true chapter M&G with BBQ and Fun and Schenanigans.

well dont forget theres more than one desert. those of us out here in the high desert drive to meet and greets and runs in other places all the damn time, in reality if you can drive to big bear (once or twice a month and for some guys even more often)for a one day run why not be able to drive to stoddard valley, cathedral city or borego for a once or twice a year event that lasts all weekend and benifits someone elses good cause.

Im really getting the feeling that in this chapter theres some sort of pre-determined notion that unless it is big bear its not worth wheeling or showing up to hang out. Ive tried numerous times to show good will and show up to meet and greets 60 70 80 100+ miles from my house. Theres a handfull of people Ive met through Naxja I have built friendships with and enjoy doing things with, Ive also met a number of stuck up "look at my shiney new $1000 part" guys who think because they spend more on thier parts that have that big name brand they have a better jeep, Im quite tired of being told my jeep isnt good enough for this run, Im also tired of people able to spend money on thier jeep giving those of us who cant a hard time and attitude because we run welded spiders, a booty fab rack, or vato zone cheapo lights. I like what I have and wheel it just as hard and on the same trails as everyone else so whats it matter what it is I show up with?

I know a lot of people will disagree with my statement.....but I paid my dues and I dont care what they think any more

Hey Dan,

I understand what you are saying. I am guilty of not driving way far for M&G's but wheeling, I will drive for... when I can. Not sure who says your Jeep ain't good enough, but I will wheel with you anythime and you are welcome to wheel with me anytime... hell, that's what it's about.

With that said, my intention of my comment, was a poker run through the desert. I think it would be fun, maybe to have a multi-day event, poker-run on Friday evening/night, then the show on Sat or poker run on Sat and show on Sun. I like the show idea casue fokls will be parked and can tlk shop all day!

So I ask again, anyone wiht experience of connections to help get something started?

How about when it cools off we all disconn. our exhausts meet up in Salton City then roll west into Borrego Spr. all loud and obnoxious like take over the little city causing fear and terror, ransack the place then meet up at Ricks.... abuse his hospitality then move on when we've drained the town..... like the biker gangs of the old days. Cherokees from HELL !!! :viking:
If it wasn't so hot we could do it while Rick was in Big Bear.

LETS ! ROLL !!

Curt
