I know that the NP207 isn't a very good case. But I'm not sure why. They have a 21 spline input, if that is changed to a 23 spline, how will the rest of the case hold up behing a mild AMC 304? I have one from my donor Commanche with an input from a NP249, easy swap. I'm just curious about strength issues before I get into that aspect with it.
Also, I'm starting my SAS conversion on the Eagle this weekend, finally! I will post pics as I get them. 85 AMC Eagle wagon will get YJ Wrangler front springs with a cleaned up MJ D30 with 4.10s, AMC20 in the rear from the same MJ with 4.10s and MJ/Eagle rear springs. After I do the springs and axles, I am getting an older AMC V8 passenger car front crossmember so I can install my AMC 304 under the hood to replace the tired 4.2.
I'm hoping the SAS will only take me a couple of days. The V8 swap will take longer, I still have to pull the engine and trans from the donor 85 Grand Wagoneer, 304(wrong engine for that application, but it has a 4 barrel and an aluminum intake on it), and a 727 Torqueflite auto to replace the weaker 904 that is in the Eagle now. Ought to be much more fun to drive after the fact.
