This isn’t an XJ question per se, but there doesn’t seem to be a more appropriate place to post this question, so I’m posting it here.
I’ve mounted a power distribution block and I’m working on cleaning up some of the accessory wiring on the rig. I’ve got a dash-mounted two-way radio that was connected directly to the battery posts per the instruction manual. I’m moving those connections to the new distribution block because, f@#! the instruction manual. The factory radio wiring includes in-line fuse holders for both the hot and the ground wire. I don’t need the in-line fuse on the hot wire because the distribution block is fused.
Why is there an in-line fuse on the ground wire, and do I need to keep it? If anyone can shed any light on this I’d appreciate it.
