So I know this person who has a what I belive is a '73 Jeep CJ-5 Golden Eagle, I searched the the interweb and could not find a darn thing on the Golden Eagle trim line, So does anyone have any info on this model if it indeed existed, and if so how many were made because I've only seen one other and other stats would be help full. Thanks

It's a real trim option. 'don't know what was included other then the decals and gold painted rims.

They're pretty rare, pretty cool IMO. They've got a gold eagle decal on the hood, gold accent lines on the exterior, and gold wheels. Not many left in good condition.

Watch a later episode of "The Dukes of Hazzard." Daisy's Jeep is a Golden Eagle with the white paint, Eagle decals and the gold rims...

There was also a similar package offered for '06, IIRC. They like to offer jazzed-up options for the last year or two of a particular model run, to stimulate interest in a model that's long in the tooth. Witness the Cherokee Classic, which started as a '96, but they started building them as late as September of '96, well after the '97s should have been shipped. They are a combination of older and newer parts, odd option combinations, trying to generate some interest in a car they've been pushing for 14 years! Anyway, I was at the Qtec Jeep show in York, PA, and in amongst the Wranglers, there was a fine example of an '06 Golden Eagle. I actually liked it, and Wranglers, for some reason just don't light my fire.

Is this like a Firebird that has the bird painted on the hood?

Like how rare?

Rare enough to be worth some good money to collectors if its in good shape.
My dad is about as into the old FSJs as we are into our XJs, and goes through them like crazy... he'll buy one, fix it up, sell it for another one, repeat... and he's only ever found one, and it was in terrible shape. They're pretty rare.

Yes.

I remember sitting in one in a Jeep dealership in Colorado in 1973.....I wanted the Jeep, Dad wanted a Chevy truck.

this one has some rust damage, cracked fenders, but it appears to be all on the surface rust so a sandblaster should remove it but the paint is not faded just a good cleaning and some TLC, oh and the levi seats and top are no longer :(. It also runs, for AZ folk it made it up I17 going north

Yes.

I would disagree that they are rare. I have seen several of them but most are in rough shape.

Mine had Levis seats a tach and a clock.

The Golden Eagle should not have had the Levis seats they were exclusive to the Levis EDition from what I have read. I looked into a Levis Edition and they were indeed rare.

The levis seats and top was just something I read from really the only information I found i cant give you the source to confirm it sorry.

Mine was a 78, gold, with gold wheels, and the big ole eagle sticker on the hood. It had nutmeg colored Levis seats but who knows if they were original. 304, T-150, Dana 20 TC, AMC 20/Dana 30.
Loved that thing but I had to sell it several years ago.
