So what I gather is the less back spacing the more the wheels stick out?

Yep exactly. I prefer running stock rims because the tires tuck into the wheel wells nicely. But if you plan on trimming and going flare less, less back spacing with a wider stance would work just as well.

Careful this really only works with smaller-ish tires and/or narrow ones. Much beyond a 33x9.50 and you may need to look at wheels. Not only for fender but control arm and other clearances.
Also keep in mind the rim width on the stock wheels.

Ok so my plan is 32 11.50 15s 3.5" 're super flex no flares and an inch trimmed on the fenders if I run like 3.5" b.s. on a 8 inch wide wheel will that set-up work??

Trim a little more than an inch (past the ugly part of the fender the flares bolt to) and you should be good to go. I had a similar setup back in the day. 3.5", 32's, front trimmed and flares relocated. The RE 3.5 will sit a little higher than this until the springs settle.

Shoot me a message when you are ready to order the Rubicon Express lift and I'll see what kind of deal I can do for ya.

Or you can run 265/75 on stock 16 wheels (like TJ Moabs) and not have to trim. I have this with a 4" lift and tires tuck in nicely.

Awesome i appreciate it...thanks for the pic...that's basically exactly what I am looking for stance wise...and yes I will definitely let you know when I am ready to get the lift kit. Do u have a rough estimate for the super flex with twin tube shocks for me?

If you meed anything rubicon express that's the man to talk to. Nearly 100 bux cheaper than 4 wheel parts or any other website I've looked...thanks again Sam. :)

So as far as I gather the ax15 has 3.07 gears...should it gear to 3.73??

The axles that are factory with the AX15 come with 3.07 gears, not the transmission itself. A common JY upgrade would be to pull the axles out of an auto, which have 3.55 gears. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money to regear to 3.73's.

That's what I meant...lol so the auto axles will prolly cost me 300 to 400 bucks...I couldn't get carriers and gears for that??

I'm sure you could get them for around $300 for the pair from someone parting their Jeep.

If you're going to drop the money on regearing, it makes more sense to go a little deeper with the gears.

Agreed, it's what I did. Axles range from $50 to $150 on here and at junkyards. Most yards charge $130 each.

If you really wanted you could get a 3.73 LP D30 out of a V8 ZJ and a 3.73 ford 8.8 and weld perches on the 8.8, but you'd have a low pinion d30 then. I'd honestly just go with a set of 3.55 auto/4.0 XJ axles, they are literally everywhere.
