Northeast Snow Storm

Thunder Ridge in Patterson on rt22 is 35 min from you, count on them being open, even though this stuff looks kind of funky for skiing, very granular. When I got done scraping my driveway, where its down to pavement , the pavement is bone dry, this stuff was frozen before it hit, and turned into a crust. The snow on my heep 's roof came off in one big piece - lots of snow drifts to play in.

Hey you could be in Oswego New York with 130" of snow.

I would actually like that. I used to go to school in Rochester, NY, but I didn't own a Jeep at the time.

As of 6:30pm I had 24" of snow and it is still coming down, there heavy stuff has passed. At one point it was coming down 5"/hr:eyes:

I hate shoveling, I shoveled 5 times so far today, and I'm going to have to do it again atleast 2 more times.

I hate snowplows. Every time i clear the driveway they just shove it all back in, except its packed and heavier. Bah! Id just run over it all but the gf has a civic that has to make it up the driveway. About 3 feet so far in Utica. Good fun driving past everybody stuffed in ditches tho!

According to the news we got around 22", I can't tell though. Walking acrossed the parking lot to me jeep this morning went anywhere from a foot to over me knees...

I got about 20 inches here in central New York. My Jeep is still out of comission, so I had to take the DD (Nissan Stanza) to work at 5:45 yesterday morning before my street was plowed. That was an adventure.

You need to get your rig going again, would have been the perfect morning to go doorless...:laugh3:

I think that my lifted XJ is under this...

Earlier in the thread I said I was taking a trip to Jiminy Peak, I made the trip and here are some pics.

This is the Mass Pike heading west towards Albany

This is the Jeep after sitting in the parking lot at Jiminy after about 5 hours of skiing

The driving was fun but tiring...on the way it was bad but manageable because it was light out. On the way home in the dark I could barley see which way the road was turning. The visability finally got better once I started going down the grade after the Blanford rest stop

the skiing at Jiminy was some of the best east cost powder skiing i've done. I've been out west and its clearly not the same, but for the east it was sick

I went up to stratton on thursday because I had a free pass, the snow didn't have the same consistency and the skiing wasn't what I expected. It was also freezing, this is my overhead console when I got up there right about 9 am, the wind was also blowing hard so I think with the wind the summit was at about -40

In the berkshires and points around there there was well over a foot of fresh, up at stratton which is in South Londondery VT I belive there was over a foot, but I think they got less then some other parts of VT

Yeah, I know. Hopefully Sunday I can find time to tow it out of the snow and up the driveway so I can take a look at it. When I try to start it, I can hear and feel the crank rotating, and I can smell the fuel, so hopefully something simple like a new distributor will get it running again.

Wow, Rob, now I really feel pathetic. Your Jeep runs and mine doesn't.
it barley runs, it needs to be jump started since the battery is dead, and its down 2cyl (needs plugs and/or wires) and gots a bad rod bearing
