(A bit longer then I expected sorry)
lol what am I doing to my rig.....
Well let me first apologize for my lack of tech speak when it comes to automotive and jeeps. I bought my first socket set last week
Here’s the story
I have been driving a 2004 Nissan 350Z for the past 2 years. But I decided to go back to school and get a biology degree in January so decided the $1000/month car (including insurance, maintenance, payment etc.) was not going to work with me being a student.
Then I found the jeep on craigs list..........
not knowing ANYTHING I bought it $1900
3 days later I figure out the t-case is blown and I find oil spots on my driveway.
The oil spots annoyed me and I started reading online about XJ's
figuring 2wd was fine for now I jumped into the rear main seal as my first project.
Half way through I decided I needed air tools or I would never finish so now I have those as well
4 seals and trips to NAPA later it was fixed and back together.
But during the process I had to drop my front axle and I figured since everything was already apart I might as well do a lift. So now I am installing the re superflex 3.5" lift. I am done with the front and while doing the back last night had to cut the bolts to one of my leaf springs
So tonight I replace the bushings on those and hopefully can drive it again tomorrow...
I know that next I will have Death Wobble so have been looking for t-cases and prices on dealing with SYE and drive shafts etc.. I think I found a t-case for $50 with a new chain and will do a shim and t-case drop to fix the wobble while I rebuild my current t-case with an SYE etc..
so things I am looking for.
1. T-case np231
2. SYE
3. Drive shaft
4. Black window roll down handle
5. Lift gate interior trim (gray)
6. Bumpers
7. Roof rack (Stock)
8. A/T tires 31"
9. Black rims
10. LOTS of advise
11. New friends
Because of school I am on a VERY tight budget for now but I have time to acquire these pieces and I am enjoying the hunt. I think I will hit the bone yards as soon as I can drive it again LOL.
