no search and cant post

So i log in to start a new thread and it says this...

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

also, there is no longer a "search" button. what gives?

What gives? Look right under your name. I am only guessing here, but did you recently change the email addy in your UserCP? If so, you have not acknowledged it in the email sent to the addy on record.
