No more MJ

I was driving back from wheeling on 49, was pulling over to talk to Troy a minute, looked out and saw the glow from the fire on the ground. No idea how it started. It was really starting to come together, too.

Phil, did you get your comanche towed off of 49 yet? Did you find a place you can keep it till your insurance gets back to you? The tow truck driver & firefighters were jerks, they acted like they didn't want to be inconvienced. I think your insurance will take care of things and you should get a good check from them to put into another rig. You can use your driveline parts, most susp stuff and you should be up and wheeling again shortly. It was a long day/night, but I had a good time wheeling with you. Sorry for your loss.

I called the Highway Patrol, and they said they were going to have it towed. I started talking to my insurance company, and I think that tomorrow they are going to have it towed to one of their yards somewhere to figure out the value.

I know for sure that they will considered it totaled. I had my 95' grand cherokee totalled by a hit and run. One of my neighbors said they saw a little Honda Civic hit it. I'm surprised that car was able to get away. My wife and I were looking for it in the area and calling up auto places but couldn't find it. I paid $4,700 for it and got $7,600 for it from Geico after my $350 deductible. They should hopefully give you a very low salvage value for it since most everything that could have burned did. You can then use most/all of the susp/drivetrain parts to build another rig. You might want to get your dana 30 checked out since the fire was upfront. The dana 44 wasn't touched at all and should be fine.

Damn, that really sucks. :(
Lesson to those that don't have an extinguisher, get one! I have two in mine.

Phil, sorryu about the MJ, that really sucks. I had a bad myself with my tranny going out. Not nearly as bad of a day as you had. Hope you get a good settlement from your insurance. make sure you buy your MJ back from them with some of the settlement money. Hopefully they will sell it to you for cheap.

Bryan

Damn.
