well this is how it happened. I had an extra electric fan layin around so i decided to delete my clutch fan. i did and wired it up to my fuel pump for a test run to see if it would cool enough while in town. Well it blew the 15amp fuse. so on the side of the road i didnt have anything but a 25 amp fuse. so i put that in to get me home. WEll when i pulled into my garage the fan caught on the housing and sending a surge of electricity through the circuit. I figured the fuse was blown but it wasnt. i checked the relay and it was also good so i went and bought a fuel pump and put it in and the same problem is occuring. it is turning over but no fuel pressure. i have power to the fuse the relay and the sending unit is getting power cause i have a reading on the guage. So idk what it could be any help is appreciated!

First, BASICS--year, engine, etc.

Second, there was a reason it was a 15 amp fuse in that circuit--to prevent burning up components and wiring. When you put a 25 amp fuse in the circuit you have probably melted wiring along the way. Now you get to cut open wiring harness all over your XJ and repair the damage you did.

Third, if you are trying to replace a mechanical clutch fan with two stock XJ fans you are going to be overheating, as neither one of them or the two combined pull any where near as much CFMs as the mechanical fan.

Good luck.

nevermind i fixed it. it was a a bad conection to the fuel pump because when i installed it the pin was pushed back inthe connector. thanks for the help.

You should go and buy some lottery tickets, you are very lucky.

Next time you need a fuse and don't have the correct size, pick another circuit with the right size fuse that you can live without and rob that fuse.

Good luck.
