No email notifications

All I know is that I set up a test account/user name yesterday. Following the instructions explicitly, the forum registration worked "perfectly."

Then I made a test post using that new test account/user name, and subscribed to the thread I posted in... with "instant email notification..." Then I had another member post right behind me in that thread. Just as I suspected, an notification email popped into my email box - instantly!

I looked at both your (JMotorsprt and langer1) account data, and they both appear to have the right settings to receive notification emails. Why they are not is quite possibly something on their end.

Have either of you logged out, and logged back in? Checked your subscriptions to see if any threads are currently subscribed to? Tried subscribing to another new thread?

It's awful hard to fix things that don't appear broken on this end.
 
I too have not received "email notifications" for the past couple weeks. I tried to log-out but for some reason it will not let me. I'm always logged in.

Ok I set up a new account to see if I could make it work as well. I have recieved no email for confirmation yet....I am using a personal server for this email with NO spam filters on.

It is very hard to fix things when they work in the place you are trying to fix them from. Where are the emails you are recieving coming from? What address?

It is possible your computer is still resolving the naxja.com address to the correct IP. This would allow you to still get mail where to other people it would fail.

You're talking to the wrong guy. The right guy will be back eventually, man...

Hang tight and let it go for the time being. ;)

We're all having to deal with this. Some are just quieter than others. :D

Still don't work, I changed email servers and woody had to go in and force the update.
I do get the email from support but not confirmation email, so don't anyone change your information or you will be locked out.
 
Odd, I posted above what the problem was.

1.) The domain naxja.com no longer resolves in DNS. Erp, it resolves as 0.0.0.0 on my machine at home now...so it's still broken. Hey, it happens.

2.) when the forum software sends out a message to users it is using the naxja.com address as the sender domain.

3.) Most internet mail servers, at least sendmail based, will bounce a message if the sender's domain does not exist using the check_mail ruleset.

4.) Your ISP's email server is probably rejecting email messages that are coming from naxja.com because of number three above. At least this is what the logs say on my mail server.

5.) In order to fix this either naxja.com has to be re-enabled in dns OR the forum software needs to be adjusted so that forum notifications sent to users are sent from [email protected] instead of [email protected].

There may be other issues at play here that I'm not privy to. This is just what I am able to see from here as a user like the rest of you.

I think everyone just needs to be patient and wait until the people that can work on this problem are able to do so. I am only speculating on this but, please remember that club sites and the people that run these sites are effectively doing it with their free time; sometimes real life must take priority. It's "best effort" and we should appreciate that.

I totally agree with you.. but they should at least acknowledge the issue in the forums and edit posts about it a bit less.
*shrug*

I guess every club is run a little different.

Still not getting E-mails after notifying my E-mail provider of addresses that are not Spam.

Jason, like I told these other guys...the guy who can handle it is outta town. We'll just have to wait until he's back. Until then, you'll get nothing. ;)
