new xj! wootness!

thanks guys! brian, it doesn't hurt my feelings at all about the woodgrain. it's one of those different strokes things. i'm not a fan of pt cruisers, though, but i'm tryin to get my wifey to get like a volvo or vw wagon and put woodgrain on it. i think they should make a wagoneer based on the commander, and put woodgrain on it. it would look great with the dark green like trailratethis has...

this is my buddy's 89 yj that he got for $650 bucks. it has all kinds of goodies(none of them suspension related), including a nice stereo, racing seats, and pretty much new 31" baja claws on cragar soft 8's. anyway, the point is that we went messin around in the woods, and he got stuck! har har har... i'm just proud of my little xj on a/t's that pulled out a wrangler. a lot of people don't think an xj is a real jeep, and i like to prove them wrong. spencer has had a few xj's himself, so i don't give him that much crap, but you guys know what i'm sayin.

i'm just gonna do a three inch for now, and see if i need more later. i did everything i wanted at wooly's stock on street tires, so i think i'll be fine on 3" with 30's and a locker in the rear. i might get 31's next time i need tires, but that's gonna be a while. i'm tryin to keep this jeep DD worthy, and still be capable. my old jeep got to the point where i didn't like driving it to nashville and back, not to mention going to memphis to see my parents, or moab, if i decide to take this jeep next year. i'll prolly get another winch, but it won't be another superwinch. that thing was a pile o' carp. i wanna keep this one nice, and i'll build another trail-only rig when i get outta college and get a real job.

sounds like a good plan. 3" is plenty...with trimming you will easily clear 33's. 31's and a locker is a nice combo, still very streetable.

when you do the lift...post up...we should do a wrench fest

sweet! i love the idea of having an extra hand or two when putting on a lift! i'm thinking of just buying some spring compressors from harbor freight. i don't wanna buy some from vato zone for 50 then take 'em back. for what they cost, i'd spend that in gas to go to vatozone and back.

yeah, i actually just did that with the blue jeep to get the 3" springs out, and put the 4.5" back in, so i guess that's what i'll do for this one. don't forget, you're longarmed, too! trailratethis got me some S10 leafs, so i'm gonna try to put the lift in on sunday. i think i'll try to run a stock trackbar and move the hole over to save some money. looks like all i'm missing for a complete lift now are some front shocks.

AND NOW, WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!
DA DA-DA DAAAAAAAA!!!!!

my little weenie lift! not big, not bad, but better than stock
it's a little too high in the back, but i think it'll level out over time, and if it doesn't i'll eventually pull out a couple leaves.
anyway, thar she blows.

Looks great! I hope you keep the waggy appearance.
