new xj! wootness!

i do need a stock air cleaner, and maybe a tcase. this motor seems to run ok, but the oil pressure is pretty low once the motor warms up. i'm thinkin of replacing the oil pump.
edit: the alternator is actin a little janky too. headlights kinda go bright and dim, bright and dim every now and then, and the voltmeter dips pretty low, then comes back. i think i have one on warranty from the old jeep, though...

i'm embarassed to say... yeah, it stays between 20-30, then at stoplights it goes to zero once the motor has been running for 20 minutes or more. no noises though. edit: no major noises that will make your teeth grind.

Ah, gotcha. That's not "low" oil pressure, that's "zero" oil pressure!!

If the oil is full and there's nothing wrong that you can tell, then i'm sure it's fine.

i figured it prolly was. i had the same thing on my mj, put 20w50 and lucas in it, and nothing changed. i'm thinkin that with almost 280k on the clock, the sending unit could very well be stopped up.

Crap. Can't get on PB at work...

After further looking into the oil pressure situation I found out that a manual oil pressure check is a good idea. The gauge may be bad, there may be sludge or a low viscosity oil is in the engine. I dunno I'm gunna try changing oil and using 10w30 and see if that works if not i will continue on my venture.

I can see those. :yelclap: I like the double headlights. I kinda wish I woulda kept mine...

What axle is in the rear????

dana turdy five. i'm iguana lock it and run 31's or 32's. it'll be ok, i drove the other one like a Jerry's kid and never broke it, and i'm gonna be a little easier on this one. if i break it, i'll replace it with an 8.8

That's a pretty nice XJ. Take care of it and don't trash it. And strip the black paint off those wheels.
