Picked up a "new" to me anyways welder today at a great deal! Went into the Pawn shop and seen a Miller Maxstar 200 on the shelf. Checked out the tag $200!!!! Shoulder strap, 25' leads and a shielding gas adapter for tig all included!!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Asked they guy what the deal with it was (figuring it was junk) he said nope nothing wrong with it and he thought it was a bit overpriced for that small of a stick welder. So after a bit of "barganing" I walked out the door with my new $180 welder!
Brought her home, plugged he into the 120 worked on that voltage so I rigged up an adapter to plug into my 240 and sparks were flyin with that too. This thing is going to be SWEET!!!
OK so here is my question:
How big of an inverter would a guy need to run a welder at say 40 amps on the trail? Would a 2000w continuous be enough? I had no problem with the breakers popping when hooked up to 120 until about 100 amps on the welder.
I was thinking for as small and portable as it is if I could use a trail welder and just make a few passes that would be frickin awesome.
