Okay so anyone reading this probably read my thread the other day about my control arm. Well we finished that late last night and didnt test drive it. Well my sisters boyfriend who was helping me was the only one actually under the car. To make things short....he goes to jack the front end up on the front crossmember and managed to break this......we heard a big pop but figured the jack just slipped. (no one noticed this until today when we drove it and heard it and jacked it up) So my question is, What is this part called? A motor mount? I wouldnt think so because I dont think it actually mounts the motor.

You can see where it broke

It almost just seems like a support of some kind. But I cant seem to order it anywhere online.
THANKS IN ADVANCE :worship:

Its still a motor mount of sorts. Volvo probably calls it a strut mount, torsion mount, or some other variation.

Best bet is to take the pieces off and head to the volvo dealer...they will have a diagram on the computer where you can point the part out that you want. Looking at it...my guess is $70

My only problem is that the only Volvo dealerships are a good 3 hours away.

well call the dealer up, and ask to speak to a guy with a computer :dunno: then ask if he can recieve emails. Email him the pics. bada boom bada bing your part is in the mail. Is springfield MO that small of a town there is no volvo dealer ? Maybe go to your local import repair shop and ask them. A ford dealermaybe since they own volvo now, they probably will service volvos ? I dunno i never bought a new car and only go to dealers for recalls lol i hate the dealers. I am a city boy through and through in live in super dense populated area we have tons of volvo dealers.

Heres the actual part out of the car. Its that, then it connects to the bottom of the motor
with that piece of metal (its pretty weak)

Well, that part looks like it is designed to prevent the motor from torqueing over, If you drive without it, just be gentle on the gas and brakes. Hard acceleration and hard shifting might cause some trouble.

Torque mount.
Thats the other one I couldn't think of.

BTW Dogbone is slang and refers to the basic shape of the mount.
