mine has AC, just have to get it all working again. I have sent him a message to inquire about the sleeper set up. I have seen where guys have put an AC in the sleeper and just use a small window unit and fit it to an access door so it can be removed....cheap and easy to plug in w/ shore power.

Even the RV ones run off an inverter while the truck is in motion would be cheaper than fixing factory a/c...or adding it.

Yeah I know yours has it.

I may go this route one day...lose the car payment...she just doesn't want a "semi" sitting around...

this is very similar to what I am wanting to do, but I am going to build a flat bed instead of having rails out the back. I need to find out more info on what sleeper that is b/c it is the right size for what I need.

that looks like a 60" flat top

probably from a peterbilt, they used the two doors in the side.

those are the same size/style I'm looking at. Low to the chassis for better economy.
and look into "red dot" for the AC. If you can find one in a graveyard, new they're $$$$, but they're the ones that mount the condensor on the back of the sleeper.

thanks Nate. I have a local guy that has a sleeper off of a Pete that he said was out by his junk pile.....it may be all beat to hell or have coons living in it as far as I know. His dad had a bunch of sleepers too but started crushing them a few weeks back so he is not sure what he may have left.

We had an orange sleeper with leopard print curtains out back of the wrecker yard last week, but it was already trashed.

I'll keep a lookout for ya Tyler, may be an excuse to roadtrip out to Cheeseman Fab :D

It did not come with the box, I just bought it as a cab n chasis..I was hoping they would have the box off by now, but snow and ice on since the weekend so they are not moving too fast on it. I have been shopping around of stuff for it today, needs a Peterbilt sleeper, cab visor, I want to clean up/update the interior and then get ready to start on a bed design. Oh, and of course some 'Preston Farms" sticker somewhere on it...taxes :D

There is a truck yard in ottawa about 20 min south from my house as well... Come on down, we can have some bacon, cheese and search the yard. Always wanted an excuse to go there....

Sounds sweet Blake! Find out if it is a yard that will let you walk and pull our own stuff first, a lot of yards wont let anyone but employees back in them. If it is an "open yard" I would love to come down and I would bring a trailer too "just in case" :D

mapquest shows the wrong location... Not sure why.. It is actually on the other side of the highway from what it is showing. Look the arial view and you can see it.

you guys get a handle on what the pricing of a 60-70" low profile sleeper is for me if you head that way.

I'm thinking about going that way, solves my lack of seating, lightens the truck up a few thousand pounds and will be easier than fixing the water damage in my box.

they finally got the truck out to the shop where they are going to remove the box....now we will se how long it takes for that to get removed.....these guys are in no hurry that is for sure.

Cheese "already paid, and now getting irritated" Man
