Hey everyone, I just moved up from San diego, I got started with NAXJA about 5 months ago down there, and have loved it. Made some friends, but had to move away after I was done in the military there. Very anxious to meet some new people and hit the trails with some of you guys from Washington! I'm in the Federal way area right now, we'll( wife and I) be moving somewhere close within a couple months, so it won't be far from the greater Seattle area. Looking forward to meeting you guys up here, and thrashing my xj even more!

Oorah there devil dog. I got out in Oct from Lejeune. Don't know if u loved it or hated it, but I hated it. Anyways, welcome back to the NW. Tell us some about the rig, is it a daily driver? Mine is FAR more beat than most's and is no way in hell my DD. For the mostpart, everyone is at NWFest this weekend, so you're not going to get many replies until next week. Welcome though and look forward to meeting you up on the trails.

Hey! Gald to see you up here with this chapter now! :) A retired airdale squid myself. Located over in the SouthEastern corner of the state.

Welcome to the NW .Most people are in Tillamook Forest in Oregon for NW Fest ,but a few of us had other stuff going .You can still make NWFest it`s this fri.-sun.

Hey mud1059, I hated it too, but glad I did it. It's finally sinking in that I don't have to go back :) My jeep is a daily driver, but would like to get a small honda to get around so I don't have to buy so much gas. I have a rough country lift, totaling about 6.5", a super 35 kit in the rear with a detroit locker, front is open right now, wanna do detroit trutrac or an electronic selectable when I can afford it. I've got 4.56s, homemade rock sliders and roofrack, c-rok steering box protection that I won at my first NAXJA event in big bear May '06, an optima red top, bilstein 5100s, factory skid plates that I bought off someone, small compressor that does fine on my 33's, a set of staun deflators (wonderful little contraptions), engine's stock, drivetrain is stock, still haven't done a SYE, and have yet to brake anything, knock on wood. But, I have acquired some trail damage, which of course, I'm proud of. It has handled John bull twice, if anyone is familiar with that big bear trail. Um, i think that's about it. If I knew how to post pictures on my post, I would.

Oh, and future plans include a decent front bumper that can hold a winch, and an affordable 8000 pound winch of course. And a front locker.

Here you go Adam- some credential shots from CC/Sidewinder:

Great sounding rig for up here. You've got too much straight sheet metal for me! 'bout the corps, I'm glad I did it too. Same with the wife. She actually did better than I did though. (I have a problem with authority I s'pose). Well, stupid authority anyways. You never mentioned you got beadlocks too, you're holding out on us : ) I guess a bunch of guys are headed up the end of Aug. I'd say you're invited but I'm asking permission to roll with these guys I've never met before either. Either way, good lookin rig and welcome back to the real life, bro.

Thanks man, oh, and they're fake beadlocks, otherwise I would have bragged :) But they do come in handy, the outer lip protects against rocks, and I've actually tried to break the bead, and with 10 psi, the tires hold on and the outer metal protects it enough it won't push it off the wheel. I've really enjoyed them. Obviously real beadlocks, especially the stauns internals would be better, but for now, rims with protection. About the end of August, I guess just let me know, probably better by PM, if you're going, and if I can tag along. That'd be great.

And to Coullt, thanks for posting those for me man, really appreciate it. How are things going down in SD? Things are great up here, I'm getting signed up for community college, and up here, they give veterans with Iraqi freedom time 45-50% off tuition, so that just means more GI bill and college fund money in my pocket! And, I'll be topping out unemployment, and I can stay on it the whole first year I'm in school, so I'm not even going to work! Then I'll be transferring into University of Washington, and continuing towards Mechanical Engineering degree.
Have you taken the blue beast out yet? who bought your last one, was he local around SD? Have you seen him out with it? K, gotta go man.

No problem at all dude- I know you would have done the same for me in the same situation. Life is good and I haven't taken the Blue Pearl out yet, but there is a trip up to Azusa Canyon this weekend and Gabi will be out of town, so I am probably going to head up there. I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you and the Mrs.- that sounds like a pretty good deal that you are getting for school. I would take as much of it as I could, given your situation. I have a year to go and I haven't decided on a major yet.

Anyhow take care of yourself up there and remember to check in every once in awhile.
