I have been a member for awhile up in Nebraska but there is no jeepin there. I just moved to fayetteville and I am looking to rebuild my 92 2dr with some local help and shops. I had some antifreeze in the oil and the engine siezed up, I took it apart and the head is slightly warped but it is fixable. I am looking to get the engine built at a shop somewhere within a few hours drive of fayetteville and I need some suggestions. Thanks for the help. maybe someday in the distant future when it runs again I will go wheelin with you guys, or in about 2010 I will have to get rid of my driveway decoration formerly known as a Cherokee.

welcome to the south east. we can take care of any gearing/suspension stuff you need done. dave

Thanks for the advice. I have checked out carolina rock shop online. i am looking for an engine building shop in the state or near here who has experience with jeep engines. I need a few suggestions since I don't have time to build it myself. I also have many parts for sale. I have almost a complete stroker engine ready to be built with a 258 crank and H802cp pistons. Let me know if you know anyone looking for cherokee parts. email me at [email protected] Thanks again

Welcome to the Sandhills. I live in neighboring Moore County... West on 24/27 towards the Uwharrie trails.

Greg Stone (BIGWOODY) up in Greensboro owns a shop. He has experience with Jeep motors & fab work. Gbo is a bit far from F'ville, but I'd trust him with the job.

Local to you, there is a 4x4/Jeep shop on Murchison Road...Sandhills Off Road. I've only been there a couple of times, but the owner (Lee) seems like a good guy. If you are heading from Ft Bragg towards downtown, it's on the left, past the ITCO(?) Tire warehouse, before Pamalee/CountryClub intersection.

Welcome to NC, just moved to Oriental in Pamlico Co.(where the men are men and the sheep are nervous) 'bout an hour or more east of Fayettenam. I take it you are stationed there, I was too twenty odd years ago. Good luck with your re-build.
