Hey guys Im new to the forum, not new to jeeps. This passed weekend I picked up a 99 cherokee bone stock and have big plans for it and am going to try and keep a picture heavy build thread on it and will try to keep track and post prices and such. It will be somewhat of a budget build. I won't be skimping out on anything but I will be doing as much of my own fab as I can and finding as many deals as possible. Hoping to make this a thread worth reading, I love a Good build Thread!
Here are my two previous jeeps, I sold both about a year ago and regret it a lot.
2001 WJ Overland- 33" pro comps, claytons long arms, trail ready bumper
ALL DONE!
Cleanin Up
Many Fishin Trips
Hunting Trips too
Here was my FAVORITE
2000 XJ- 35" MTR's, Rough Country lift, RLC bumper, welded rear. I'd drive it to work everyday on the highway, Drove it 70 miles to Dirty Turtle Offroad park a couple times and beat the crap out of it then drove it home.

And now in with the new Subject
Funny story how I picked this 99 Jeep Cherokee classic up. Guy listed it on Craigslist for $1500. It had broke down on him the week before and he thought it might be the coil or something but wasn't sure. It had brand new tires on it, a new starter, new battery, newly redone headliner. $1500 was too much so I over looked it and a week later he dropped his price to $800. So I called him and asked if I could come tinker with it and he agreed. I checked/swapped some fuses and relays and no result, then pulled a plug and had no spark there. Then checked for spark off the coil and sure enough had good spark. So then I pulled the dis. cap and sure enough the rotor button had fell out in pieces/dust. I told him I'd be right back, I left and hit the ATM then autozone. Came back and sure enough with the new rotor button and cap on it fired right up. The guy was ill, but he stuck to his word and I drove off.
Good thing I don't need that bumper!
So Far I have about $950 in it:
Jeep~$800
Cap/Rotor/Relay~$40
V.C. Gasket/plugs/wires/oil change/air filter~$100
The only other thing it needs is a Front wheel bearing thats Humming on the highway, and its got the o2 sensor short that I need to trace and I need to adjust the 4wd linkage. Everything works power windows, mirrors, cruise, stereo, signals, windsheild sprayers, etc.
Things Coming up in the thread will be:
Fender trimming
rear false floor/tool box deal/cubby hole 8" sub
gonna move the master window switch into the center console or dash and move the door speakers over head so that Having removable doors will be easier. Gonna go with either half doors (great how to video on youtube by bleepinjeep) or tube doors.
Welding rear diff
I'm looking hunting for a deal on leather seat swaps
I'm hunting for a deal on 35's
I don't make a lot of money. I don't have an elaborate shop. This is my DD but I do have a spare vehicle.
Gonna take a crack at building my own bumpers and rock sliders over the next few weeks and would like to exo cage it down the road. thats all I can think of now.
I love feed back and tips. Hope to build a helpful thread for all you Jeepers
