awesome! thanks for clearing the water on that one, i have only seen a few pics of a full traction setup, and it looked confusing as hell with the brackets in the framerail. its good to know the crossmember will come out easily.

know where i can get just the long arm upgrade from full traction?

You can't. AFAIK they still haven't released the front components seperatly. They we're also not that nice on the phone to me when i asked about it just the front section, they basically told me that the ONLY way to get it was to buy the whole kit. Well i did the ONLY other thing i could then. built one myself.

LOL Yep asshats on the phone. Very aragaunt.... But if you work the story that your building a "Jeepspeed" rig and you have deaver rears already, they might just work with ya, dont ask me how I know....

Hmm should have tried that. I tried the truth, that i was lifted 8" with custom rear packs but the D44 in thr front had the brackets moved up 2" so i could only use the fron kit anyway. needless to say it didn't get me very far.

Me either. Then I called back about 3 wks later after hearing of the angle to work from a member here, and got the complete everything front and even some rear parts for like 850 plus tax.

Damn that souns like one hell of a deal. I wish i would have thought of that too. but 3 weeks later my attitude had already gotten the best of me and the johnny joints, bolts and tubing was already at the shop and the cardbord templates where flying everywhere.

I ran a 4" BDS lift on my YJ. I hated it. It is heavy duty yes. But their leafs didnt flex worth a damn. Also their warrenty isnt all the we will replace anything no questions asked. I broke the smallest leaf in the pack right in half at the center pin hole, which then snapped the center pin and my axle was moving all over the place. They wouldnt replace the leaf or the leaf pack.

Not to be too controversial but I don't think you had a BDS I think you had a Black Diamond Suspension. Here's why; BDS doesn't make a 4" they make a 2, 3.5", 4.5", 5", 6". As far as the warranty I have worked for shops carrying BDS for about 4yrs and have never been rejected, so I don't buy that, I have one guy that runs a YJ sprung over w/ 3.5" BDS leafs and a LT1 and gets a new set of springs every 8-16 months b/c he refuses to run a traction bar.

right on. the OTHER or shall i say original BDS is: "big dick sports" i think thats the name behind BDS. black diamond went out of business then someone else bought someone of their designs and brought the name back. The two are not affialiated in any way!

BDS is a michigan company about 1 1/2 hours from detroit i have never heard of anyones warranty being denied. I only hear how good the warranty is ... original poster with the wrangler kit i think you had the black diamond kit. I cant believe the guys in Coldwater would say no. Do you remember if it was michigan based company you delt with?

heres a good background on the company and what they are about.

http://www.bds-suspension.com/Company/index.php

details their opinion on pricing and the fine print excuses other manufacturers and distributors give for not honoring their warranty.
