New Fender Flare - trim strip

This seemed like a better place to get additional feedback on the new Fender Flares that were being discussed here:

So, should a trim strip like the one below be provided with these flares? The trim strip would slide over the edge of the fender flare to protect the Jeep's paint. It would be fit in place by the installer.


Background: I started out just building these for my Jeep but the others expressed an interest. They are still for fully cut out wheel wells but they are not as massive and don't project out as far. These flares only project out about 3 1/2" instead of 5". Also, they are made from 3/16" material that is much heavier and won't shatter

I am interested in this style of flares. What material are you making them from and do they attach similiarly to bushwackers?

Hey 97Jeepers, they are made from 3/16" ABS which is the same basic material major brands use for similar flares, only much thicker. They do attatch with pockets like BWs.

Trim strip look like a good idea. How much you plan on charging for these things? A ballpark would be fine. great job so far.

They will end up around the same price as Bushwacker cut-out flares. Some of the details had to be reworked and when that process is complete then picts and details will post in the other thread listed above.
