Background info: 90 XJ, 245,000 miles. 4.5" RC lift, 33" ProComp MT's, 242 TC... etc
My toy has been down awhile due to engine issues. It kept blowing freeze plugs out. Long story short, after pulling the head off I found several blocked water passages in the block. The more I dug into the engine, the more issues I found.
I've been looking at my options. With 2 kids in college, the cash flow is kinda skimpy. Well, I must be living right because last night I get a phone call.. My wife's co worker had a 89 that he was tired of throwing money at. He had done over $700.00 of work to the engine and it now has "major electrical issues". When he said the radio, headlights, and heater didn't work, I knew it was the ignition switch.
Anyway, I bought it for the 700 he had in it. it only has 148,000 on the ticker, runs like a sewing machine, and has the 231 TC. It has the same color interior as mine. I plan on pulling the engine, tranny, and tc and swapping them into mine. My body and paint is in better shape.
Sorry for the long post, I'm just excited to get back on the trails.....
