anyone have a 1995-96 booster? Will give ya a great AW4 in trade :-) or even a bit o cash.

thanks
Robert

i can get you a reman'd unit from napa with a lifetime warranty for $85 bucks if you have an old booster to turn in for a core Rob, but you're going to need to either modify the pedal rod or get the entire pedal assembly from a newer xj. lots of writeups on the web and here on naxja about the swap.

All I need is for the rod to line up with our 92.

We are doing a pressure switch in the line to close the circuit and activate brake lights.

Oh will the 95 need the spacer on a 92?

if i remember correctly it has to do with the rod reaching the pedal assembly, you'd have to look up a writeup on the swap to the dual diaphragm booster. I'll see if i can dig up some more info for you.

yeah I have read all the threads, non of them really go into detail on a 95-96 booster in a 91-94 xj. They leave out the part of needing the 1/4" spacer. SO either you dont need it or they just overlook telling ya...

or you could read the link i posted where he goes into that exact information lol.

The distance on the old style booster from the back of the booster to the center of the hole in the rod is 4 7/8". The '96 booster (and the other years of the dual diaphragm boosters as well) use a 1/4" aluminum spacer between the back of the booster and the firewall. The distance on the ‘96 from the back of the alum. spacer to the center of the rod hole is the exact same as the earlier unit at 4 7/8". If you don't use the factory spacer, the rod will be too long. If your ‘95 has the same 4 7/8" (w/spacer) rod length, then it will work.

i have a 94 sitting here with a single diaphragm booster and my rig that is an 89 chassis with the complete booster/master an pedal assembly in it from my 95, you're welcome to come take a look and measure whatever you need to if you'd like to compare them side by side.

well it also goes on to say there are different rod lengths.

a few say yes a few say no. so I am just going to have to do it and see. If I do then maybe just have to hit the wrecking yard Ugg..

i didnt need the spacer to install the 95 booster in an 89 (mine) and a 91 (lerados). so i doubt you will.

Literally its a take off bolt on. We used the fabric white thingy from the old booster on the 95. Also we used the 91 bracket, but attached the 95 pedal to it. Comes off with one big bolt.
