ok i would like to run 33's but i live in PA and here you must have the tire covered by the fender. there are 2 things i can do tell me what you think

1. run a 33x10.5 on the stock rims, i have been told they will work and not rub, any experience? i know they will look thin but i have seen it before and i dont think it looks that bad.

2. get the most backspacing possible to run a 33x12.5, with out rubbing, 4.75? 4.5 on a 8" rim. what is the most backspacing i need so that i dont rub it on the control arm?

i will probably get 4 rear TJ flares and that should help a little but it only helps cover an inch or more. , right?

I see your problem with the wider tires and the Pa laws....I run a garage in western Pa....we sell Rough Country and were a Pa state inspection station... A little heads up if you havnt got it inspected yet....Putting your stock tires on and getting it inspected will work....Just look out for them guys in white cars with lights on them....I myself have a 98 with a 6.5 and 33x12.50R15 with a 15x8 with a 4'' backspacing....and i got nailed once for it already.....It depends on where your at, but knowing the law those state police look for that (atleast around here they do) Im in the process of looking for a set of cut outs for mine....But seems everything is only going up to 1996, so i need to do some searchin on it....But for you just put on some stock tires and wheels and then wait a couple days and put your other ones back on.....Your an SUV under the state laws so you dont have to worry about lift laws.....just mainly tires.....But note the fines are big if you get caught.....Sometimes its cheaper to put flares on then to pay the fines more then once......well hope you get it done!! anything else just ask!! ttyl
