Anyone got a Spare Stock T case Skid and a Fuel tank skid?

I found a front skid in the yard but couldn't find any others...

Also on the lookout for a set of rear nutstrips for the stock rear reciever hitch... I found a set but the truck they're in at the yard is a bit rusty and i already broke an extension and a socket on it......

DOH!

Let me know if you got something and a price for it!

Just trying to get ready for a first wheelin trip!

Just saw a gas tank skid at western pick and pull on federal last week. I think that I payed like 10 for mine there.

Slick!

I'll head up there on Saturday!

The gas tank is the important one right? I mean the gas tank hangs down a lot more than the T case does..

I hear the stock T case skid is pretty flimsy.. and hard to find...

If I don't have any luck at the yards I'll start calling shops and if that fails I'll figure something out.. either buy something aftermarket or make something out of scrap steel..

it's all personal preference i suppose... you'll hear different opinions.

gas tank may hang lower, but t-case is much more expensive to fix!

i'd say most folks at least do rock rails first, as that is expensive/difficult to repair
(unless you just cut them out later) and definitely prone to get smacked.

i think as long as you have a plan to piece together what you can over time you'll be good.
;)

My rockers are a little wrinkled already from a minor side impact...

thats part of the reason it was cheap...

So I'm already planning on cutting out the rockers and doing a rock rail insert.

I'd actually REALLY like to sleeve the uniframe at the same time and do up a removable cross brace or two that tie the rockrails to the uniframe stiffeners and maybe even have it go all the way across to help reduce twisting when flexing.

Though that might transfer the twist someplace less desireable causing damage.. dunno... I might get the steel to do both and see how feasable it is to tie them together across the middle with some 1x1 or 2X4 depending on the amount of room I have..

I think when I get some time I need to roll under it on the creeper and poke around..

On the T-case skid....

I'll do a search right after this... do you know of any stout aftermarket skids out there that arent too pricy?

I want to do the TnT drop bracket frame eventually which doubles as a T-case skid... Id' hate to spend too much on one just to pull it later to put in the TnT

I did a t-case skid first... and it has lots of scraches on it now, you do the math.

I have the Skid row t-case plate, but now i wish i did the rubicon one that replaces the cross bracket. I gave up some clearence for the skid row plate.

but i guess so does the tank skid, maybe i should take it a little more easy out there.

Oh yea... no rocker skids yet, and boy can you tell...
