I have a mid-90s Mongoose Expert and I am trying to find the correct bottom bracket bearing size. I bought it new back in the 90s and a few years ago went to ride it and the crank wobbled really badly. I took it apart and found the bearings(non-sealed) were shot and it got hung on the garage wall and thats where its been since. I got the bug again to get it back on the road but I can't seem to find the correct part numbers for the bearings. There's just so many sizes and types of bikes and I am entirely out of the loop on BMX knowledge and quickly get lost ha...

I can find out the exact model number if that is needed also. Any suggestions on the bearing sizes or places to get them online would be awesome...

Is it a 1 piece crank? If it was wobbling it's probably because it just needs to be tightened. Do you have it apart? Are you wanting to replace just the bearings or the cups and races as well?

It was as tight as it could go and a one piece, there was definitely something wrong with the bearings. At this point I am not sure I have the cups and races so I am thinking I can find a kit that has it all if its reasonable...

If your serious about bmx, a set of one peice cranks will last you about a day before you bend them.

Mid 90's frame should be an 'american bb', long before mid, spanish, probably even pre euro... most bmx crank spindles are 19mm or 22mm.
