I have a nice free sunday tomorrow and have been needing to install the B&M tranny cooler and gauge. So I was wondering what yall think the location of the sensor for the gauge should be? supply line or return line?

Here is where I ended up mounting mine.

I really like how it turned out!

Where did ya get the pod? looks great!

Thanks stump! I got it from the Summit Racing store in McDonough. They had single and dual gauge pods. The single only cost me around $20 and I think it was well worth it! If I ever need to put in another gauge I am definitely gonna go back for the dual gauge pod.

Whoa, seriously? I have an aux cooler (bypassed the radiator totally) and its gotten up to around 200* numerous times just driving around - no hauling or anything.

yah so far mine fluctuates between 170 and 195 so far but I am still running through the radiator. I am thinking about bypassing the radiator to see if there is any improvement.

I see a couple XJ's in my driveway getting one of these!

The only thing I hate about where I live is this kinda stuff cannot be found anywhere but on the interweb..... :laugh3:

Ok I think I have a problem. So for the first time since I installed the new trans cooler and gauge I ran the jeep down the highway doin about 70 mph for 25 mins. While on the highway the trans gauge hung around 165 and the engine just a bit above 210. Now that I have gotten off the highway doing stop and go driving the trans and engine are running at the same temp, 220!!! The only thing that I can think of that may help would be to bypass the radiator completely and only run the trans fluid through the trans cooler only. Anyone have any other ideas to why it is running so hot now?
