hey

I am trying to figure out why my friends 91 eagle 2000 gtx isn't starting. it turns over but doesnt start so I figure its either a problem with spark or a problem with fuel.

I pulled a spark plug and held it against a bolt and checked for spark. there was no spark(hopefully I did this correctly)

so now i wanted to test the coil and I looked up ways to test the coil and the only tests I found involve testing the coils that have a negative and positive terminal. this coil does not, it have two wires in a plug going into.

so im kinda lost at what to do?

how do i test the coil?

i have a test light and multimeter but i dont really know how to use them properly

take the plug out of the coil. connect your meter to both terminals on the plug (meter on 12v by the way) then have someone crank it. watch the meter. if you have 12v turning on and off, the computer is activating the coil. then you have either bad coil or cap and rotor or wires. if no switching 12v, recheck at PCM. if works there, bad wires to coil. if still nothing, either PCM crapped out, or a sensor is not working right. usally cam or crankshaft position cause a no spark condition.
