Alright, here's the deal. Some of you may be aware that I've been considering replacing my '87 MJ with a newer truck. I've decided on a diesel Suburban, and I'm having trouble finding the perfect one. I've done all the online searching through cars.com and autotrader.com and ebay and the only ones that I come up with are either too expensive, too far away for me to get to in time, or are rust buckets from the northeast. I was hoping that some of you from the less rusty parts of the country could keep an eye out for a '97-'99 1500 or 2500 4wd diesel Suburban... body and interior must be in good shape, under 100k miles, the lower the better.

You can email me at [email protected], or PM me here on NAXJA, the best Jeep club ever!

Thanks!

No Duramax, unfortunately, which is why I'm looking for a '99 or earlier w/ the 6.5 TD. Wish they made a Duramax, wish I could afford a new one. Actually, I'd be fine with a Durango if they offered a diesel in it (I can't justify a gas guzzling V-8!) but they don't so I won't. I'll just have to get used to driving a much bigger vehicle. Keep your eyes peeled, everyone!

Thanks!

Nevermind...

I've decided to get one of the ones I looked at earlier in my search, a '97 GMC K2500 6.5TD, black w/ tan leather interior, 76k miles and well maintained by an engineer. Should pull my Jeep much more comfortably than my '87 MJ Pioneer lwb 4.0 5-speed. Not that it struggled, really, but I'm tired of shifting, and I want AC and room for passengers without pouring gas down the throat of a thirsty V8.

What a debacle with all the complications from my insurance company, financing, DMV, etc. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
