need for stoker 4.6

i am coming up on a rebuild and i would like to know what the price difference is for a stroker vs a normal rebuild would be in cost. i figure 450 for a normal rebuild kit plus machine work. how much for a stroker? i was just wondering cuz i might just put a vortec 6 if its to outrageous.

I assume you mean the Chevy 4.3 V6 in which case swapping it in will cost far more than building a stroker. Forget about the Vortec 4.2 I6 because that one has the front axle going through the oil pan.
A stroker rebuild will not cost much more than a regular rebuild. The main added cost is the purchase of the 258 crank & rods, plus a performance camshaft to reap the benefit of the extra displacement. You could build a stroker (including machine shop work) for $1500 if you shop around for parts. Read my stroker build-up.

I think my stroker (with a free engine) and a ton of work done to it was just about 2K. Remember to add a good $500 onto whatever you think you will need, because you always forget something.
