A friend of mine tore up the factory crossmember on his 2000 XJ on our last Big Bear trip. It's a 4.0 with an AW4. I'm not sure what other years will work.

If you've got one, let me know. Thanks.

shoulda told me when you stopped by travis. i have a couple here.

I might have one also. You can pick up your pint glad too.

Only 00-01 ones will fit... unless you also swap the rubber trans mount to the earlier year design. At least according to my info (which comes straight from a Crown Automotive dude.)

They changed the 4 bolt pattern on the trans mount from offset (the old design, kinda dumb) to centered (the new design, not dumb) but sadly only kept it for 2 years, so it ended up making things a bit more annoying.

As far as I know, yes.

The bolt pattern on the transmission is the same AFAIK, it's just the bolt pattern on the crossmember and bushing that changed. So you swap both and you should be fine.

Kastein, you were right. The transmission holes are in the same spot and the transmission mounts are paired with the different crossmembers so they line up the same. I took a picture.

that offset mount is such a pain in the ass, i cant even count the number of times i've put them back in backwards.

Up here in the rust belt I just line the mount up with the not-rusty part of the crossmember :gee:

edit: it looks like the clearance recesses in the passenger end of the crossmember are slightly different on the newer crossmember to clear the larger downpipe, too. I forgot that. We had to modify the crossmember for a friend's longarm kit to clear on his '00-01 a few years ago, I completely forgot that till now. Not sure which kit it was either, he's on here as sheepjeep.
