Hey guys I ordered a new suspension lift to replace old worn-out parts...I was planning on doing the install myself, but due to an unfortunate accident to my left arm - I am unable to install the lift myself. I will be in a cast for another month and then another 4-8 weeks in rehab. I was wondering if any of you guys would be willing to do some "charity" work to help me out. I really need to get this lift put on. I would provide as much pizza and beer as needed. If anyone would be willing/able to help install in about two weeks (still unsure of exact date)...please let me know if you guys would be able to spare some time.
Thanks, Shawn

Let me know exact time man, if Im not working, ill come give a hand.

Hey Shawn,

Why don't you start with giving us a detailed list of the parts, kind of lift and whatnot that you're looking to get installed. Some people may be more comfortable installing the easier lifts, but if you're gonna be doing a long arm, or installing R.E. drop brackets and those kinds of things, that may put some people in an awkward position when they show up and discover they're in over their heads.

I have no doubt you'll get the help you're looking for. Just give us some details.

BTW - I hope you can start the PB Blasting on your own. Colo Springs is a little farther than I normally want to venture but I'm sure you'll get some volunteers. Just put up a little more info about what's being worked on.

I would be in the help, but the others are right. We should know what we are getting into.

I have a RE6030 on the way. Nothing too big. I have had most of the parts off a few times so should not have any problems with bolts. I will be removing a 2 "BB and a few other little things. I was planning on doing the lift over the weekend, but I guess those plans have changed. Any help you guys could offer would be outstanding!
Thanks again, Shawn

Man you guys rock! The lift should be in about mid this week, Wed or Thurs. I will check with the wife for some time. Thanks I will call and see what will work.

Looks like the only thing that I need to track down is a set of stock rear shackles. Any of you guys have a set hanging around anywhere?

Don't run the lift spring in the rear with stock shackles they are too short and will limit bolth stuff and flex. Lets mount it up and see how much higher the rear ends up first. mabee lift the front a little more if needed.

If I can break free, its the least I can do after you saved my ass after the ordeal with the donor XJ in the Springs. I will bring my porta power ram. It really makes getting everything lined back up a lot easier.

Thanks Tom! Led, the only shackles I have now are 1.5 in. I think the front will have to come up a lot to match that. If I run the new springs with the lift shackles that will put me at at 5 in? My tires will look very silly! I guess I could just put the new lift on my 2 in now!? Can anyone say SYE! I really appreciate all your help guys, this one arm thing SUCKS! I will have a tracking number for the lift on Monday. Then we can start working on a date. Thanks again guys!
Shawn

The lift is on schedule to arrive Thurs. How are you plans for this weekend looking?! I will give you guys a call to see if that will work.

Well, the lift is on! THANK YOU JOEY (xjk9bar1)! We used the RR Outfitters 1.5" shackles in the back, the stock ones took all the drop out. I am thinking of putting the 2" spacers up front, but waiting to see how it settles. The drive line is bad. I will be doing a hack-n-tap soon! Now all I need is some bigger tires. Maybe some 265/75/16's, or Led's 33's, and some 15's,....and some more money. I think I need deeper pockets...

i'm curious about those RR shackles... how well do they fit? i had considered those, but they appeared to be too big and would have hit my exhaust on my '01.

also, fwiw i've got some 265/75/16s for sale. send me a PM if interested...

Terry,I'm using the RRO shackles. On Smurf I had to "Clearance" the exhaust tip a little bit for the shackle bolt but no problems as far as I know.I'll have to see how well they work on the '97 but it doesn't look like its going to be any different than on the '90.

Flash, sorry I couldn't lend a hand but Led and I got tied up doing axle work all day Saturday. We called Joey a couple of times to see how it was going but he didn't answer his phone--Answer your damn phone Joey :)

I had to heat up the tip and straiten it a little. When I get more time, and the use of my left arm back I will be trimming the end a little and putting a different tip on so it’s not in the way. But I am happy with the shackles. They are beefy.

When I didn't here back on the lift party, I thought it had been canceled?
