Bought an amp from ebay (new in box). Legacy LA-468. Hooked it up, power light lit up, but got nothing. Thought maybe I had to restart the amp for something to happen. Key off, key on, blown fuse. Thought to myself...wtf? Changed fuse, blown, happens a bunch of times.

Disconnected EVERY wire but +12 and ground, even the remote. Still blows fuses. This isn't just 'blowing' fuses, this is almost demolishing the fuses.

I'm convinced the amp is screwed. Anyone have any input? I'm hoping that I'm just missing something completely visible and having a blonde moment.

You either have the power wires swapped or the outputs are shot.

Ha,I dont think I have the wires crossed...lol. A thick red wire is obviously, noticable different than a thinner black wire.

well for starters your ground wire should be as big if not bigger than your power feed! secondely are you sure they are not arcing across each other? I had an old kenwood do that to me, had to wrap/insulate them both from one another

The remote wire is between the positive and negative connections. Theres half an inch between the two...

All of this wiring was used up until probably 2 weeks ago. Then I blew my old amp and I jsut got this one now to replace it. The wiring itself has never given me any issues.
